The Formex REEF 39.5 “Bahama Blue” is a compact Swiss-made dive watch that combines professional 300-meter capability with exceptional finishing, COSC-certified accuracy, and one of the most distinctive blue dials in the REEF collection. This pre-owned example is presented in mint condition and comes fitted with its Formex stainless steel bracelet.
The centerpiece of this configuration is the spectacular Bahama Blue lacquered and polished dial. Formex creates its deep, lustrous appearance by applying colored lacquer over a mirror-polished surface, followed by seven layers of transparent lacquer that are subsequently polished down. The result is a rich aquatic blue that changes character with the surrounding light and gives the dial impressive visual depth.
Surrounding the dial is a matching Bahama Blue zirconium-oxide ceramic bezel. Polished with diamond paste and fitted with black resin-filled numerals and markers, the 120-click unidirectional bezel provides excellent durability and a distinctive monochromatic appearance. Formex’s innovative construction also allows the bezel to be removed and exchanged by hand without specialized tools.
Despite its serious dive-watch specifications, the REEF remains remarkably wearable. The hand-finished 316L stainless steel case measures 39.5mm in diameter, just 11mm thick, and 45.5mm lug-to-lug, giving the watch compact proportions that work exceptionally well for everyday use.
At its heart is the Swiss-made Sellita SW300-1 in Chronometer Grade, individually certified by COSC. The automatic movement provides approximately 56 hours of power reserve and features premium components, a decorated finish, and Formex’s custom skeletonized rotor. Formex additionally rate-tests the movement after final assembly.
